The first two volumes of this important collection contain excerpts from 497 letters written to La croze by such scholars as Bayer, Burman, Clodius, Drakenborch, Fabricius, Haverkamp, Hemsterhuis, Jablonski, Relandus (a.o), incl. in the second volume 168 letters by J.C. Wolf alone. The third volume contains excerpts from 149 letters written in answer by La Croze. The plates mostly represent facsimiles of Armenian, Coptic and Chinese writing.€ 280
