First editions of 2 major illustrated horticultural books of the Dutch Golden Age. Ad I: Nissen, BBI 339; Paradisus Batavus, 122; Hunt I, 344: "(...) These engravings are sharp and very well cut, though the plants are clearly reminiscent of vande Pas." The gardens of Louis XIV (St. Germain au Laye) and William III of Orange (Soestdijk) served as models for the garden plans.
