Rare first Dutch edition of the "Institutiones physiologicae" by the founder of scientific natural history research. Originally published in 1786 as "Institutiones physiologicae" by the german physician Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (1752-1840). He became professor of medicine in 1776 at Göttingen. He can be considered as the founder of scientific natural history research. He practised also palaeontology and he possessed a famous collection of human skulls. - BMN I, p. 114.
