Beach-scene after Jacob de Gheyn with the famous sand-yacht of Prince Maurice of Nassau designed by Simon Stevin carrying twenty-two (of 28) passengers said to have travelled therein from Scheveningen to Petten with a speed of c. 40 km per hour; preceded by a smaller sand-yacht with seven on board, and followed by two horsemen. Several boats in the background and groups of people on the beach. In fine condition. Latin text on v°. - Atlas v. Stolk II, 1107; Muller I, 1158a.
