First edition of this important collection of letters, edited by the famous theologian Richard Simon who purchased these from the heirs of the French scholar Amelot de la Houssaye. Of the 94 letters or essays the first two are the Samaritan letters addressed to Scaliger, in Morinus' translation. Nrs. 13-26 contain the correspondence between Morinus and Della Valle, on Samaritan matters and on Muhammedan chronology.€ 240
