(DELLON, C.). Aanmerkelijk historisch-verhaal van de inquisitie der Portugeesen in Goa, en andere gewesten van Oost-Indiën. Middelb., G. Horthemels de Jonge, 1688. (12), 282, (17) pp. W. engr. ti.-vign. and 6 engr. plates (3 fold.) and 3 engr. engr. in text. Sm-8°. Cont. vellum. (Title and first 2 prel. pp. a bit moulded, ti.-p. also a bit frayed on edges).

Van der Vekene (271-277) mentions a Leiden edition of 1687 and 4 editions of 1688, but not this one. In this book, Charles Dellon (1649-c. 1710) narrates his trial and incarceration by the Portuguese Inquisition in Goa, Daman and later in Brazil and Lisbon, totaling 18 months. The book was a great succes and was immediately translated, i.a. in Dutch.
