First edition. Nicolas Gauger (c, 1680-1730) was a jurist and a censor for the Government, beyond being a talented amateur scientist. This work had been planned in different sections, which were never completed. This book is the earliest treatise on domestic heating and the basis for all following works on the subject. - Poggendorff I, 852; Kat. Orn. Berl., 3838 has only the third edition of 1749; not in Cicognara and Fowler.€ 140
