Johannes Baptista Montanus was Vesalius' fellow-student in Padua and one of the leading humanist physicians of the 16th c. He revived Galen and the Greek medical writers. First work on faeces, urine and the French disease (syphilis) and the second on uterine affections. - Both are very rare works, no copies in NCC. - NBG 36, 108; Waller 6649 & Osler 3445 (Venice ed. of 1554); Adams M-1687 (only second work).
