PHOTOGRAPHY -- COLLECTION of c. 286 picture postcards of Egypt and Egyptian works of art (c. 85 pre 1940) and c. 50 coloured advertising cards published by Liebig/Oxo w. captions in French and Dutch relating to Egypt. Neatly arranged in 43 plastic filing sheets in modern ring binder.

Including an early issue (postal stamp dated 1906) in postcard format of a photograph of 'Orange sellers at Cairo, Egypt' which was made by the Zangaki Brothers, two brothers of Greek origin, who were active as photographers in Egypt and Algeria, from the 1860's through to the 1890's and who specialized in photographing ancient monuments and scenes of everyday life, producing prints for the tourist trade. They were amongst the first commercial photographers to produce large scale images of Egypt.
