(16), 231 lvs. W. woodcut on ti.-p., 3 similar full-p. and elaborately cold. woodcuts of the crucifixion (1 w. added cut out drawing of a praying monk on his knees, mounted in the illustration, and 2 where this cut out drawing seem to have been removed), c. 200 woodcuts in text of uneven size (i.a. biblical scenes) and num. initials, all in old, bright hand colouring and partly gold heightened. Fol. Mod. hcf. bind. w. red velvet sides. (Repairs to margins of ti.-p., of lvs. 82-85 and of lvs. 200-207, upper outer margin of last 4 lvs. a bit stained/browned, traces of use in places, but in good condition).

Service book of prayers and rituals for use by the Order of the Preachers or Dominican Order, one of the greatest and most influential monastic orders of Western Christianity. Printed in red and black in Gothic type in two columns, 38 lines to a page, capitals highlighted by hand with yellow dots throughout. Calender on 6 leaves following the title-page. Copy augmented with 3 leaves of manuscript in Latin after the last leaf, written in 2 columns. With 6 - later added - finger tabs. Rather scarce edition printed by the heirs of Lucantonio Giunta (1457-1538) and with his printer's mark in red on the title-page.
