STEINITZER, M. Richard Strauss. 1.-4. Aufl. Berlin, (usw.), 1911. 287 pp. W. 32 illustr. on 18 lvs. Lge-8°. Ohcl. (Small defect to spine, but a very good copy).

Copy with manuscript dedication on the first free endpaper to J.A.H. Baron Van Zuijlen (van Nijevelt) by Richard Strauss, dated Den Haag, November 22 1911. Throughout the book at least 14 places where Strauss himself deleted passages with pencil or altered the text which seem to have been carried through in the second edition of 1914 (cf. https://archive.org/details/richardstraussb00steigoog). Also with manuscript dedication to Richard Strauss by Steinitzer on the v° of the first free endpaper. The book was given to Van Zuijlen van Nijevelt, a conductor himself, on the occasion of the 'Richard Strauss-Feest' given at The Hague on 20-30 November 1911 (Gebouw voor Kunsten & Wetenschappen) where Strauss's works were performed and where he conducted. From the library of Willem Noske.
